1. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is a member of the lily family and hails from Africa. It was used medicinally

can buy it as as a juice and as a gel, some people grow the aloe vera plant and break
off pieces of the succulent leaves to apply as needed. For acne, aloe vera battles

Lemon has been used for centuries to heal acne-ridden skin. It also has the side
benefit of bleaching acne scars. It is available as lemon juice or as lemon balm
oil. One of the popular recommendations is to take a whole lemon and cut it in two.
Squeeze half into a glass of water and drink it. Squeeze the other half into a bowl
and dab it on your face with a cotton ball. Leave it on overnight.
3. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar has potassium in it which is a healthy addition to your body.
As well, vinegar is ascetic acid which exfoliates dead skin cells and excessive oil
both of which clog pores. Clogged pores can cause pimples. Because vinegar dries
the skin, it can heal pus-filled eruptions.
4. Burdock Root
Burdock root contains elements that are great in providing nutritional support to
sebaceous glands. Since these glands secrete sebum which is the oily substance in
your pores that can get trapped and turn into acne, having this gland healthy diminishes
the infection factor that leads to acnes. You either make it into a tea and drink
it or use the oil directly on your skin.
5. Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is an antiseptic and natural healer that performs near miracles in cleaning
and sanitizing your skin. The antimicrobial agent in tea tree oil that kills the
acne-producing bacteria, Propionibacterium acnes, is terpinen-4-ol. Dab the oil directly

Too much lemon or apple cider vinegar or too many applications can go from a healthy
cleansing to burning your face by sloughing off too many skin cells. It would be
better to try one or two herbal treatments at a time. Perhaps try lemon for cleansing
at night and aloe vera to sooth in the morning. Ideally start with one treatment
to see how it works before trying the others. Some work very well with some types
of skin while other work better with other types of skin.
